Giraffes Can’t Dance

What it’s about?
Gerald is a Giraffe. He’s tall, his neck is long and his legs are bandy. It’s time for the annual Jungle Dance and despite his best efforts, Gerald just can’t dance.
The other animals are all much better than him and bully Gerald and laugh at his attempts to join the dancing.
Gerald has to trust in himself and find his own rhythm.
What we think:
The Little Monster chose Giraffes Can’t Dance as one of his library books because he has read it at nursery and really liked it. It’s the perfect book to read during Anti-Bullying Week as it it all about being kind and accepting people’s differences.
The Little Monster said his favourite bit is when Gerald does his dance. He’s just started ballet classes himself so this was accompanied by a spin! 😀
