This week’s choice from the Little Monster’s Little Library is a new favourite, 100 Cats.

100 Cats is the follow up to 2018 100 Dogs and follows the same format.

100 different cats – cute, cheeky. stinky, cool, there is a cat for everyone. Lots of fantastic rhyme and great vocabulary. This may be a quick read but there’s lots to talk about. We chat about what the cats are doing and how they are feeling.

Every double page features a cheeky hiding mouse and the tail of a very tricky kitty. Part of the fun of the book is spotting them.

The final double page extravaganza features all 100 cats and we always end by spotting our favourites (the little monster likes the baby and I like the grumpy welly cat) and a game of “Spot the cat” – find the cat wearing sunglasses/dancing/smiling etc.

This may be a simple, quick read but we love it and it makes the perfect follow up to a longer story when I’ve promised to read two (or more) at bedtime.
