What: Big Cat Craft Day
When: 5th October 2019 – Book Shop Day
To celebrate Bookshop Day on 5th October, the Little Monster and I headed to BB’s Play Cafe which was hosting a storytime and crafting event organised by their neighbours at Chorleywood Books.
Writer and Illustrator, Emma Lazell her picture book Big Cat, a new take on the children’s classic, The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Granny has lost her glasses and doesn’t notice that her new cat is a little on the large size. The book is fun and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful.
After the story, the kiddos had the chance to make a ‘draw with me’ paper plate tiger mask and get creative by adding to a giant illustration of the tiger in Granny’s garden.
The craft session was followed by a book signing in the book store next door.
This was a great, fun way to support new writers, independent bookshops and get kids reading – and the grown ups had even had time for a hot cup of tea!
