I don’t do Tik Tok! Luckily Booktok is all over Instagram and bookshops are also sharing the recommendations and most popular books. The End of US is on every Booktok list going and unbelievably I had never read any books by Colleen Hoover so thus was a perfect fit.
What it’s about?
Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up
— she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
What I think:
Oh my goodness what an emotional read!
I loved Lily- what a woman.
Smart and witty, independent and willing to take a risk to get what she wants.
But she is also cautious and thoughtful.
I was rooting for her for the first chapter and I could not put this down.
As Lily falls in love with Ryle there are some incredibly sweet and beautiful moments between them. New love leads her to reflect on her first love and relationship with Atlas. Revisiting her diaries takes her back to her teenage years and recollections of her parents’ relationship.
This was not the book I thought it was going to. It was so much better.
I literally could not stop reading. A few times I thought I knew where the story was heading and I was so wrong. This book made me laugh, made me sad, made me angry and made me hopeful.
I’m not going to say anymore. If you haven’t yet read this yet I will not spoil it!
This was my first Colleen Hoover and I’ve added the rest if her books to my already ridiculously big TBR and have already pre-ordered the sequel for later this year.

Such a good read! This is one of my absolute favorite books
