My Colourful Chameleon

Back in 2019 you could still go to children’s birthday parties – remember those?!
My Colourful Chameleon was a party favour from a particularly energetic party that the Little Monster was invited to.
The little girl in the book has a pet chameleon who is proving quite tricky. She’s very cute but very troublesome and keeps disappearing.
It doesn’t matter where they take her she vanishes. When she disappears during show and tell the teacher gets cross and mum takes the pesky pet to see the vet.
Reassured that the chameleon is supposed to change colour and is actual a clever little creature, mum learns to love the pet.
This is a charming rhyming picture book with lovely illustrations. We play spot the chameleon in each picture – some of the were quite tricky.
There’s a great page of ‘next steps’ with ideas on how parents can expand on what you have read with questions, rhyming games and activities.
The Little Monster’s favourite part was when the mum nearly sits in the poor chameleon and squashes her.
This is a fun book that you can enjoy time and again.
