The Hopes and Dreams of Libby Quinn

What it’s about?
A gorgeous new romantic comedy about taking chances and realising your dreams.
Libby Quinn is sick and tired of being sensible.
After years of slogging her guts out for nothing at a PR company, she finds herself redundant and about to plough every last penny of her savings into refurbishing a ramshackle shop and making her dream of owning her own bookshop become a reality.
She hopes opening ‘Once Upon A Book’ on Ivy Lane will be the perfect tribute to her beloved grandfather who instilled a love of reading and books in her from an early age.
When her love life and friendships become even more complicated – will Libby have the courage to follow her dreams? Or has she bitten off more than she can chew?
What I think:
This is such a charming book!
Libby is a bookworm whose love of reading was instilled her by her grandfather, Ernie. All of her best memories of him are of the stories they read together and a shared dream of turning a shop on Ivy Lane into a bookstore.
I love Libby’s dream – her shop sound perfect. Books, coffee, writing ,quirky and friendly. This is the local independent book shop every reader would love.
Along the way Libby encounters damp, decay, rats and a nasty bout of tonsillitis.
She also has to find the people that are going to support her and those who aren’t.
Everything about this book is just uplifting and fun. Libby’s family, friends and neighbours (no spoilers from me but there is one particularly gorgeous, helpful one!) are exactly the kind of people you need in your life.
If you are looking for a book that is going to give you the warm fuzzies this is definitely it.
