My plan for August is to tick off as many of my remaining Popsugar prompts as possible. I’m 65% complete with 14 prompts on the main challenge left to go. I also have 7 of the bonus books left
This month’s choices:
Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Sutanto
I had actually forgotten that I owned this book – but found it on a shelf when I was having a tidy up. It’s not on my Popsugar prompts, but I can use it for a 52 Book Challenge prompt.
What it’s about?
ARE YOU…DEAD?’
OH MY GOD. I THINK HE IS.
When Meddy Chan accidentally kills her blind date, she turns to her aunties for help. Their meddling set her up on the date so they kind of owe her.
WELL, THAT DIDN’T QUITE GO TO PLAN.
Although hiding this goddamn dead body is going to be harder than they thought especially when her family’s wedding business has THE biggest wedding of the year happening right now.
IT’S PRETTY BAD TIMING REALLY.
It turns out the wedding venue just happens to be managed by Meddy’s ex, aka the one who got away. It’s the worst time to see him again, or…is it? Can Meddy finally find love and make her overbearing family happy?

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
This looks like a perfect, escapist read for the summer holidays and fulfills the written by a neurodivergent author prompt.
What it’s about?
It’s high time for Stella Lane to settle down and find a husband – or so her mother tells her. This is no easy task for a wealthy, successful woman like Stella, who also happens to have Asperger’s. Analyzing data is easy; handling the awkwardness of one-on-one dates is hard. To overcome her lack of dating experience, Stella decides to hire a male escort to teach her how to be a good girlfriend.
Faced with mounting bills, Michael decides to use his good looks and charm to make extra cash on the side. He has a very firm no repeat customer policy, but he’s tempted to bend that rule when Stella approaches him with an unconventional proposal.
The more time they spend together, the harder Michael falls for this disarming woman with a beautiful mind, and Stella discovers that love defies logic.

King of Nothing by Nathanael Lessore
I am really looking forward to reading this one as it has been nominated for, and won, so many awards this year. I’ve added it to the unlikely friendship prompt.
What it’s about?
ANTON AND HIS FRIENDS ARE THE KINGS OF YEAR 9.
They’re used to ruling the school and Anton wears the crown. The other kids run away when he’s about but that’s the way he wants it – he’s got a reputation to live up to after all.
So when he gets into serious trouble at school, he doesn’t really care, but his mum most definitely does. She decides it’s time for Anton to make some new friends and join the Happy Campers, a local activity group. Anton would quite literally rather do anything else, especially when he finds out Matthew, the biggest loser in school, is also a member.
But after Matthew unexpectedly saves Anton’s life, Anton figures maybe this kid is worth a shot. Teaching him some game is the least Anton can do to repay the debt.
As the boys strike up an unlikely friendship, Anton finds himself questioning everything he thought was important. Does he want ruling the school to be his crowning glory or should he set his sights on better things?

Happy reading
