3 on the 3rd – August TBR

I’m off work for the whole of August and planning to tick off as many prompts as possible on my reading challenges. I’m also trying to clear out some physical books from my shelves.

This month’s reads:

Meet Me in Milan by Sophie Gravia

This meets the city that begins with M Prompt and looks like a fun read.

What it’s about?

Zara Smith is FINALLY in a healthy relationship… so why can’t she stop thinking about her ex?

The shocking news of the summer is that Tom – the ex Zara always thought would never settle down – is ENGAGED to beloved actress and all-natural beauty Quinn Foxx. They’re throwing a star-studded engagement party in Italy, and Zara is invited.

She isn’t planning to go until she finds an old note from Tom that shows their feelings for each other were once mutual. And she needs to know – does he still feel the same way? And, just like that, Zara’s on a plane to Milan to crash the most talked-about engagement of the year!

After all this time, could this be the moment Zara’s been waiting for… or the biggest mistake of her life?

Set on You by Amy Lea

I have read a couple of books by Amy Lea this year so I am looking for to Set on You which I bought last year and haven’t got around to reading yet.

What it’s about?

A gym nemesis pushes a fitness influencer to the max in Amy Lea’s steamy debut romantic comedy. Curvy fitness influencer Crystal Chen built her career shattering gym stereotypes and mostly ignoring the trolls. After her recent breakup, she has little stamina left for men, instead finding solace in the gym – her place of power and positivity.

Enter firefighter Scott Ritchie, the smug new gym patron who routinely steals her favorite squat rack. Sparks fly as these ultra-competitive foes battle for gym domination. But after a series of escalating jabs, the last thing they expect is to run into each other at their grandparents’ engagement party.

In the lead up to their grandparents’ wedding, Crystal discovers there’s a soft heart under Scott’s muscled exterior. Bonding over family, fitness, and cheesy pick-up lines, they just might have found her swolemate. But when a photo of them goes viral, savage internet trolls put their budding relationship to the ultimate test of strength.

Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey

This looks like perfect summer reading and will tick off the second chance romance prompt.

What it’s about?

Hallie Welch fell hard for Julian Vos at fourteen, after they almost kissed in the dark vineyards of his family’s winery. Now the prodigal hottie has returned to their small town. When Hallie is hired to revamp the gardens on the Vos estate, she wonders if she’ll finally get that smooch. But the grumpy professor isn’t the teenager she remembers and their polar opposite personalities clash spectacularly. One wine-fueled girls’ night later, Hallie can’t shake the sense that she did something reckless–and then she remembers the drunken secret admirer letter she left for Julian. Oh shit.

On sabbatical from his ivy league job, Julian plans to write a novel. But having Hallie gardening right outside his window is the ultimate distraction. She’s eccentric, chronically late, often literally covered in dirt–and so unbelievably beautiful, he can’t focus on anything else. Until he finds an anonymous letter sent by a woman from his past. Even as Julian wonders about this admirer, he’s sucked further into Hallie’s orbit. Like the flowers she plants all over town, Hallie is a burst of color in Julian’s gray-scale life. For a man who irons his socks and runs on tight schedules, her sunny chaotic energy makes zero sense. But there’s something so familiar about her… and her very presence is turning his world upside down.

Have a great month of reading.
