The perfect Christmas romance to curl up with in front of the fire. Fans of Sarah Morgan, Karen Swan and Jenny Hale will be hooked from the very first page.

Interior designer Ria Porter wasn’t expecting a white Christmas this year. But her latest job has landed her on location at a beautiful inn, nestled in the mountains and forests of New Hampshire. Ria can’t believe her luck and is determined to make this project her best work yet.

Successful businessman Hayden Reynolds has hired Ria in a mission to save his grandfather’s inn. But as Hayden and Ria soon realise, it will take more than a new coat of paint to heal the rifts that have torn his family apart.

But as the snowflakes continue to settle on the trees and the inn comes back to life, Hayden and Ria might be about to discover a whole new future this Christmas, that could change their lives forever…

What I think:

Snowy New Hampshire and a cute in should be the perfect Christmas read, but I am sad to say this fell flat for me.

The setting is gorgeous and described in a lit of detail. There’s also a lot of description of bedroom design and interior decor. Every room makeover is a revelation to the characters.

And it was the characters that were my problem.

I didn’t feel any chemistry between Ria and Hayden. They were both far to angsty. One kiss and they each spent ages pondering the significance of it.

The parents could have resolved their problems if they had literally sat down and had one conversation.

If course it all ends happily ever after, but it all felt a bit contrived, and to be honest, I was t really bothered by then.

This is a nice read, a little slow, and some beautiful description of the setting and the food.

Some people will love this but it wasn’t for me.
